| Tax preparation fees are based on time spent plus expenses at the firms normal billing rates in existence at the time the service is provided. Rates applied are based on the type of work performed with the lowest rate for bookkeeping services, middle rates that include: keypunching, scanning, processing and payroll while the highest CPA work is applied to review and signing. Typical personal tax preparation fees are estimated as following: Form 1040, one state, one W-2 and/or 1099: $95. Dependent children of a taxpayer, client each - $10 Retirees not required to file but doing so for reasons - $25 Add fees for additional services: One to two W-2s or 1099s each - $30 Schedule A (1040) itemized deductions - $30 Schedule C (1040) self-employed business - $50 Schedule D (1040) with one or two pages of entries - $50 Schedule E (1040) rental business - $40 Schedule E (1040) page two pass through each K-1 - $30 Other schedules for forms - Var Additional state each - $50 Federal or state estimated tax vouchers each - $40 |
